It has been brought to our attention, from several community members, there
are people going around the neighborhoods claiming to be from LA Metropolitan
Water claiming they need to replace or install water pressure regulators.
The person will wear a tool belt and a badge to make themselves look like an
"official" worker. This is a very common tactic used by
criminals to disguise themselves to get into your home or yard. This is
something to be mindful and cautious about.
If you have any doubt if someone is from the Metro Water, get a business
card, a badge or ID number, a name of a supervisor, and contact Metro Water to
double check the validity of the person in question. You can find your
local office on there website (http://www.mwdh2o.com/WhoWeAre/Contact-Us/Pages/default.aspx)
or contact Metro Water Headquarters at 213-217-6000.
