PROSTITUTION. Stepping up enforcement action in Panorama City to Mission Hills

In our analysis of crime over this past week, and in particular, over the weekend, we noted two aggravated assaults related to prostitution:  One prostitute assaulted another with a razor blade, and another claimed a man pointed a gun at her at a gas station.  Her lack of cooperation and late reporting would give one the idea the suspect might have been a pimp.

Prostitution is NO victim-less crime.  It brings many problems to individuals and neighborhoods, chief among them is a sense of blight.  Even the prostitutes can be victims in that often they are women forced into sex trafficking for a variety of reasons.

Whenever we note such direct crime incidents, we make it a point to step up our prostitution enforcement activity around the motels on Sepulveda Bl.  In addition, our patrol officers make regular inquiries in the hotel parking lots, and they will continue to do so, with the cooperation of the motel owners.

The safety of our Neighborhood is not up to the Police...IT IS OURS!

It is up to everyone that lives in our community to watch out, not only for themselves but, for their neighbors. If you see cars that are parked and not moved for more than 72 hours call 311 and report it. If you see any vandalism, PLEASE report it. If you see someone that obviously doesn't belong or is doing something they shouldn't be, PLEASE report it. Lets keep our neighborhood clean, if you see furniture being dumped, call and have it removed.

WE ARE THE EYES AND EARS FOR THE POLICE. IT IS UP TO US TO KEEP OUR NEIGHBORHOOD SAFE!!!
