COMMUNITY ALERT REMINDER

2013 Los Angeles Fire Department

SPREAD THE WORD “COMMUNITY ALERT REMINDER”

The Los Angeles Fire Department reminds you that ALL FIREWORKS, even the so-called “safe and sane” variety are ILLEGAL in the City of Los Angeles. Those who use, possess or merely transport ANY type of fireworks are subject to severe penalty.

Fireworks within the City of Los Angeles are a violation of Municipal Code 57.55.01A, or Section 12677 of the Health and Safety Code.

Going to a professional fireworks show is truly the safest way to celebrate the 4th of July. Check out www.safejuly4th.org/fw/fwshows.htm  after June 26, 2013 for fireworks show information.
NOTE: The Los Angeles Fire Department does not sponsor any of the shows listed on the above website.

BE A GOOD NEIGHBOR
Fireworks can be traumatic and create stress for many seniors, children and even pets.
Ø Violators risk serious fines, confiscation of fireworks, and jail time.
Ø Our fire investigators and police officers will be out in full force this year.

Los Angeles Noise Ordinance & Noise Enforcement i.e. loud parties.

The Police Department is responsible for the enforcement of Noise Ordinance violations involving people – generated or controlled noises – which are considered disturbances of the peace. Below is a list of the most common disturbing or annoying urban noises.
LAMC 41.57: Loud noises from any sound making or amplifying advice.
LAMC 112.01: Radios, televisions sets and similar devices audible to the human ear at a distance in excess of 150 feet from property line of the noise source.

The safety of our Neighborhood is not up to the Police...IT IS OURS!

It is up to everyone that lives in our community to watch out, not only for themselves but, for their neighbors. If you see cars that are parked and not moved for more than 72 hours call 311 and report it. If you see any vandalism, PLEASE report it. If you see someone that obviously doesn't belong or is doing something they shouldn't be, PLEASE report it. Lets keep our neighborhood clean, if you see furniture being dumped, call and have it removed.

WE ARE THE EYES AND EARS FOR THE POLICE. IT IS UP TO US TO KEEP OUR NEIGHBORHOOD SAFE!!!
