On Tuesday December 27, 2011, a black male was pretending to be wielding a weapon and holding people up at the Marson Street Pocket Park. The police were called and the suspect tried to evade police. With Air support and K9, the suspect was found hiding in a vacant home on Marson Street and taken into custody. The suspect has quite a record and thankfully to the LAPD is off the streets.
Just wanted to let everyone know, if you haven’t noticed already, that the Grafitti has been removed from the Billboard by the Triangle Liquor Store.
Also, a little Holiday Safety. There has been many home robberies in the Van Nuys area and they are finding that Windows are being left unlocked, Garages left open, and Doors Unlocked. PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL AND LOCK UP TIGHT! Why make it easy on these criminals!!!
Believe it or not they are finding that some of these criminals are actually cutting holes in the glass and not just breaking windows! They are also going door to door selling candy/magazines trying to find out who is home or not or to gain access to homes. Many of the kids that come to your homes selling magazine subscriptions/candy are not legitimate. PLEASE only buy these items from neighbors/children that you KNOW!!!
