BURGLARIES

My name is Paul and I just joined the neighborhood watch group on December 6th, 2010, and I want to report that both my neighbor and my home was broken into today Thursday December 16, 2010. Our homes were burglarized between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. The burglar(s) gain access to our homes by breaking and entering through the rear windows of our properties away from the public view. Both my neighbor and I immediately call 911 and filed police reports. The police department will send out a special unit tomorrow morning to take fingerprints in an effort to catch the perpetrator(s).

Please let me know if anyone noticed any suspicious person(s) or activities between the hours that the burglaries occurred. The location of the burglaries is near the SE corner of Norwich and Lanark.

Thank you.

What's going on!!!!

Some strange events in our neighborhood.

There are people driving around stating they are selling alarms and asking for Social Security Numbers. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE SHOULD YOU GIVE ANYONE YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER.

There has been a sighting of a man opening and taking mail out of mailboxes. PLEASE KEEP AN EYE OUT.

There have been homes burglarized in broad daylight. BE SURE YOUR DOORS AND WINDOWS ARE LOCKED. Of course this doesn't mean you are safe they can break a window kick a door in, but why make in any easier.

There have also been some car breakins. BE SURE YOU TAKE ALL VALUABLES INSIDE. DO NOT LEAVE CELL PHONES, GPS DEVICES, CAMERAS, COMPUTERS, IPODS OR ANY EXPENSIVE DEVICE IN PLAIN SIGHT. YOU ARE ASKING FOR TROUBLE.

Our next Neighborhood Watch Meeting will be the first Monday in December.

Neighborhood News

NATIONAL NIGHT OUT IS TUESDAY AUGUST 3, 2010. GRAB YOUR NEIGHBORS AND COME FOR A GREAT EVENT. WE WILL BE SERVING HOTDOGS, CHILI, POTATOE SALAD AND COLESLAW. WE WILL HAVE A JUMPER FOR THE KIDS TO PLAY IN AS WELL! LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING YOU ALL THERE!

I would like to thank Marcos Sanchez, Field Representative from the State Assembly Office, for coming out and listening to our concerns about the railroad.

I would also like to thank Lt. Troy Boswall from Department of Animal Control for coming out on his personal time and listening and talking to us about the issues we have with loose dogs, cats, barking and other concerns we have.

I would like to thank the few neighbors that came to our meeting on Monday July 12, 2010. I was disappointed that we had such a small turn out. We really need to encourage our neighbors to become active members in our community.

The crime stops with us!

PROWLER

We received an e-mail from a neighbor that there has been a hispanic male dressed in all black scoping out houses in the latge night - early morning hours. He seems to be checking out houses in the neighborhood. He was spotted around the Norwich/Marson area and was being followed by the neighbor. He lost sight of him and circled the neighborhood and was seen again around Noble/Marson.

There has been a comment published in comments here on our blog.

Lets keep our eyes and ears open.

Debbie spoke about our upcoming National Nights Out BBQ that we will be hosting on Tuesday August 3rd. If you would like to volunteer your help for this, we would appreciate it. You can e-mail us at NobleMarsonNeighborhoodWatch@gmail.com. You can also leave your comments here.

Office Ismail spoke about the crime in our neighborhoods and prostitution. He also stressed the importance of us as neighbors to call in anything that is strange and out of the ordinary. It is up to us to keep our neighborhood safe.

The safety of our Neighborhood is not up to the Police...IT IS OURS!

It is up to everyone that lives in our community to watch out, not only for themselves but, for their neighbors. If you see cars that are parked and not moved for more than 72 hours call 311 and report it. If you see any vandalism, PLEASE report it. If you see someone that obviously doesn't belong or is doing something they shouldn't be, PLEASE report it. Lets keep our neighborhood clean, if you see furniture being dumped, call and have it removed.

WE ARE THE EYES AND EARS FOR THE POLICE. IT IS UP TO US TO KEEP OUR NEIGHBORHOOD SAFE!!!
